Waterfall, oh waterfall, why am I alive… Sunlight stream and rocks that gleam, my soul begins to revive…
I have a thing for waterfalls. I like to climb on them and swim in them and play around in them. I have travelled a good part of the world chasing after waterfall spots. I love waterfalls.. They make me feel rejuvenated.
Sometime around the turn of the century, I started making waterfalls. Big waterfalls and small waterfalls and several sizes in between. There is something philosophically profound about the process and the stonework is fun. But there is also something that is slightly problematic. I’m not really fond of the necessary mechanical accessories and all the product purchasing requirements (pumps, filters, liners, lights, fountains, doodads and whathaveyous).
For me, building waterfalls is all about the circle or the cycle; the process that you create for water to flow through. And once you create the cycle, you decorate it with rocks and plants and more rocks. Each one comes alive as a unique little niche or independent ecosystem.
The page will contain a rotating gallery of some of the waterfalls I have created. .
