This exhibit is dedicated to immigrants everywhere. Humans have a God given right to travel the earth. The three stone towers represent all the humans who are trying to go from one place to another place. May the Earth grant you Welcome wherever you end up. And may the journey getting there be interesting and fun.
How long will the stone towers stay standing? They are inside the same small gorge and are approximately 100 meters distant from each other. They are all built within the creek bed where they are subject to rising.water currents, wind gusts, snow and rainstorms, sudden freezing and thawing and a whole host of animals or even humans who might knock them over. Each one is about six feet tall with a diameter that ranges from 12 to 18 inches. They were all made with stones found on the spot with no mortar or epoxy or artificial adhesives. They are held together by Gravity. They were all completed by the last week of November. Will the three towers stay standing all through the Winter? Will the migrants of the world make it safely from point A to point B? I hope so. And I pray. Here they are in the last week of November.

A week or so later, I went back. The world had changed completely but my three friends were all still standing.

I went back again a week after a big storm had passed. But they were all still standing.

Then came December rain which washed away the snow again but not the three amigos. They all stayed standing even though the river rose up around them.

The wash away did not last for long. Another blizzard and the temperature dropped. below zero. The world again transforms, but still the three amigos stay standing.

I went back up the Creek again on the very last day of 2025 and the three amigos were all still standing. I will continue to monitor them as the Winter progresses. Will they stay standing until the Spring? What do you think? If you would like to see video of how they continue to evolve in the next year. Sign up for premium content..

The second amigo of the three amigos was originally created as an Equinox tower because that was the day when it was created: September 21, 2025. He is located at a place where I have built many small towers over the years. Spring rains and floods tend to wash them away because that is the way it goes. But the receding waters always seem to leave behind a new pile of rocks to play with. I like to build towers to celebrate the change of seasons. I had a blank slate and a pile of rocks this year on the Equinox so I made a little masterpiece. It was still standing when I built the other two amigos at the end of November and was still standing on the Winter Solstice and was still standing at the start of 2025. Now, it is the second immigrant friend you will come across If you ever find yourself walking up this particular creek. He represents the middle friend, the equinox, the middle path on the roller coaster of life. Will he make it until the Spring? Follow here to keep track of his evolution in a harsh environment.

The third amigo in the group is also known as the waterfall guardian because he is located in a wonderful little spot. I have a long standing belief that sticking your head in a woodland waterfall is a sacred act that helps you stay young. And this particular waterfall upon this particular creek is perfectly situated for that kind of activity. I stick my head beneath it frequently. I’ve only built a tower here once before, during a drought there was hardly any water in the creek at all. I built a little tower to ask the gods to send rain. That tower got washed away when the rains did come and the creek overflowed. This new guy was completed on November 28, 2025. He is third amigo because he is the third immigrant you come across if you happen to be walking up this particular creek. It was still standing in January 2026. Watch this site to see if it stays standing through Spring.
