Here I sit, upon the rock, having deep thoughts about the meaning of the universe.

Truthfully, I like sitting on stone walls. Despite the hardness of their surface, they are strangely comfortable because of their connection to the earth. So, in some respects, all of the stone walls that I create are intended as places to sit down. But I also sometimes create very specific seats. Usually, they are located strategically for practical purposes or particular views. Frequently, they are circled around a campfire or bonfire. And they definitely come in a variety of forms and styles. There are three rock combos; stone wall insets, stone wall extensions and sometimes just mini-stone wall benches. It’s all about making a work of art that is comfortable enough to sit upon.

It does my little heart a whole lot of good to think about all the people in Delaware and Otsego county sitting comfortably upon rocks that I carefully placed into position.
